Lush Haul!

Hi guys! Today I will be doing a Lush haul! Lush has got to be my favourite shop, ever! Whenever I make the trip up to Dublin I always go straight to Grafton street and go to Lush, I love the place so much! Most of their products are either vegan or vegetarian and they are against animal testing, usually testing on human volunteers instead of animals, as a vegetarian for eleven years and a lifetime animal lover, this is fantastic for me. The staff are so friendly and knowledgeable and really go the extra mile to help their customers, without any of that sales pitch pressure to buy something. Their products are the best I've ever used for me personally, especially with their skincare range. Fantastic products that are animal friendly? It really is the best of both worlds. I went to Dublin last week with a friend of mine last week, as I only get to go to Dublin every now and then, I bought nothing the week before so I could spend what I wanted in Lush, and I have some gorgeous products to review for you all!
1) Aqua Marina- I have been doing a cleanse, tone, moisturise routine for six years now, and this is hands down the best cleanser I have ever used in that time! It clears up my skin so well, gets rid of blemishes, brings spots straight to the surface so it I can get rid of it before long, leaves my skin so soft and glowing, my skin has never been in better condition since I started using it! The smell is really nice, but it may not be everyone's cup of tea, I think it smells like the sea, I love the smell. Its a solid yet squishy in texture. I wet my hands, pinch some off in and put it on my hand and mix it with water to make a paste and spread it all over my face. It's vegan and free of preservatives, so you know you're not putting anything nasty on your face. It has Irish moss gel, calamine powder and fine sea salt, it makes for a lovely, soothing cleanser, great for sensitive skin in particular! I cannot recommend Aqua Marina enough! It costs a fantastic €7.95, well worth it! 10/10.

2) Ocean salt - I've been on the lookout for a decent face scrub for ages and that's what I found in Lush, especially with a more than likely harsh Winter, will take it's toll on your skin, mine has been known to really dry up during the Winter, and it looks and feels really awful, not fun. It's a vegetarian scrub (yay). There is some ingredients in here I'm really fond of, the coconut and lime gives it a really gorgeous smell, like cocktails and holidays. The sea salt gently exfoliates and the avocado butter is really moisturising and leaves your skin really soft. I was really delighted with the results of Ocean Salt, it left my skin soft, invigorated, glowing and brighter. It got rid of the dead skin. Ir such a refreshing scrub and it reminds me of Spain, such a lovely scrub altogether. :) this cost me €9.20, again, well worth it! 10/10.

3) The Sacred Truth - The Sacred Truth is one of Lush's lovely face masks, and I'm a big fan (surprise, surprise). This face mask includes ginseng and green tea (which I drink all the time) work as antioxidants. The coconut oil, free range eggs and shea butter make it so moisturising and softening. The texture is so lovely too, like a thick yoghurt, very silky and smooth, the smell is very fresh, no doubt due to all that papaya in it. I use this once or twice a week, I spread it all over my face, leave it on for around 20 minutes ans wash it off with warm water. I was happy with the results of The Sacred Truth, it left my skin soft and glowing, bright and brought spots out quicker so they could be gone quicker. The only thing I would be wary of with the face masks is the because of the food in the face masks, they have to be used within a month, and alot could go to waste if it isn't used in time. As much as I loved the results, I wasn't gone at all on the smell, I preferred Love Lettuce because of the smell of lavender. This cost me €8.95, not too bad at all! 8/10.

4) Jungle Solid Conditioner - I was on the fence about trying a solid conditioner, and wary when I read the reviews, but I gave it a chance anyway. When I first used it, it felt like no conditioner was going in at all, and I was afraid of over doing it and leaving my hair greasy, but the results really spoke for themselves, my hair looked SO healthy, soft and shiny, my hair smelled lovely and fresh, I was really happy with the results. However, it was difficult to use a solid conditioner, I ended up having to break it down with hot water and making it into a paste, which made it alot easier to use. This cost €3.95, I give it a 7/10.

5) Bubblegum Lip Scrub - A gorgeous vegan lip scrub, I love it so much I use it everyday! The castor sugar in it gently exfoliates the lips and removes any dead skin. I'll be really relying on it during the Winter! It tastes absolutely delicious, just like bubblegum! It left my lips soft and lipstick looked great on it afterwards, and seemed to last that bit longer. I think it's one of their best known and loved products, and I can really see why. I feel that with the main ingredients being castor sugar and jojoba oil, it could be easily made at home if you're strapped for cash, and at €6.95, it is a bit expensive for what it is. I love it though and have wanted to try it for a while. 9/10.

All and all, I was absolutely delighted with all my purchases. I would repurchase all of them again and again, especially Aqua Marina. I can safely say, it was well worth the money for what you're getting and it lasts a long time. I'm a firm believer in ''You get what you pay for'' and that's the case with Lush. I really love that most of their products are either vegan or vegetarian and that they are so against animal cruelty and they don't buy from any companies that carry out, fund or commission animal testing. I'm one really happy animal lover, and I cannot recommend Lush enough! :)
Thanks so much for reading,
Kim :)

Get to know me!

Hi everyone! Today I thought I'd do something a little different to my other posts, a little Q & A so you can get to know me, and I feel my posts lack a personal touch, and I should be updating alot more, but I am working on two quite lengthy blogs, which should be up next week, one a Lush haul and another will be very personal and important to me, something I've wanted to talk about for a while and have very strong feelings on. But for today, here's my Q &A (Which I found floating around somewhere on the Interwebs) enjoy!

1. Is your hair naturally curly or straight?
My hair is neither. It's naturally wavy. Fun fact, my hair was so unmanageable and thick as a child, a whole layer of hair had to be cut off, and a tiny dreadlock was found in the process!

2. Do you dye it yourself or go to a salon?
I dye it myself, maybe when I have the money, I'll treat myself to a colour at the hairdressers.

3. Do you wear the same style everyday, or do you change it?
It depends. If I'm at home or exercising, I'll throw it up into a ponytail. If I'm heading into town or going out, I'll either curl it or straighten it.

4. Do you do your own mani/pedi or go to a salon?
I do my own nails. I've quite the steady hand, so a French tip isn't completely impossible.

5. How often do you change your nail polish?
I am terrible at keeping my nails nice, they chip so easily! So maybe twice a week.

6. Do you polish your toes in the winter or just the summer?
Summer and Winter, I hate feet so much, polish is my attempt to pretty them up.

7. How long does it take for you to put on makeup?
Usually 10 to 15 minutes.

8. What do you do first? Face or eyes?
I feel better if I do my face first, because I like to put primer and foundation also on my eyelids to even out my skintone.

9. Do you collect makeup or just buy what you need when you need it?
I buy what I need when I need it, but I like to try different things. I do collect lipsticks, though. I love them too much not to!

10. How often do you wear false eyelashes?
I absolutely cannot hack false eyelashes! And I've tried so hard, so never. I found though a good mascara does the job.

11. Do you do a full face of makeup everyday?
Nope! I think it's so important to let your skin breathe and get a break from make-up sometimes, and I exercise everyday, so it would just be wasted. I'll wear it when I head into town or go out.

12. Do you wear makeup when you're home alone or with family?
Nope. See above.

13. Will you leave the house without makeup?
. Only if it's to exercise or to go up to the shop up the road.

14. How many high-end products do you have?
Not as much as I would like, finances. :(

15. Do you plan your OOTD every night or decide when you're getting dressed?
I'll think about it and put an outfit together in my head well in advance.

16. How often do you change your bag?
Not often. I have my big black Penny's bag, which I love as it holds everything. My family recently came back from Portugal and my sister brought me back the most gorgeous owl bagpack, which I adore and use quite alot.

17. What time do you wake up and go to sleep?
I wake up around 10am and I go to sleep around 2am...whoops.

18. How often or when do you workout?
I do around an hour and 10 minutes of walking 4-5 times a week, the other days I'll be in town, and walk the 35 minutes each way into town. Every night I'll do arm lifts, without fail. It has lost me two stone! :D

19. Left handed or right handed?
Lefties do it better xo

20. How tall are you?
 A measly 4 11''.

21. Do you speak any foreign languages?
I speak a little French and know a few phrase in Norwegian. Jeg heter Kim ;)

22. How many pets do you have?
I have two. My dog Ruby and my cat Chewy. They are my babies. :)

23. How often are you on Blogger?
Everyday. I follow interesting people. :)

24. Do you read comments posted on blogs?
Always. I love to see the feedback, on mine and on other blogs.

25. Do you keep a list of products to try as you see other posts?
A mental list in my head, if that counts.

26. How did you come up with your blog name?
My favourite make-up product and my favourite weather. I put them together and I like how it sounded. :)

27. What kind of camera do you use for your photographs?
I use my crappy phone camera. I want to start using my Kodak camera, but the uploading from camera to laptop tends to be a bit nightmare-ish.

28. How often do you clean your room?
I am the ultimate clean freak, and forever conscious it will smell, I clean it every single day.

29. What's your favorite colours?
Black, midnight blue and mint green. :)

31. What are you doing with the rest of your day?
I'll take a shower in a few, collect my thoughts on paper for my next two blogs, watch some tv and read Game of Thrones (GoT number one fan right here <3)

Thank you so much for reading, and feel free to steal this blog like I have. Have a great day!

My Favourite Buys Of Summer 2013!

Hi guys! Sorry I haven't been blogging over the past week or two, I've had a fairly hectic week, so I didn't have much time to put in the hours blogging, but I'm back now. I thought since Summer was over, I would blog about my favourite buys of the Summer. I'm delighted Summer is over! Truth be told, I adore Winter so much more, and I look forward to Halloween! :)
1) This Summer, it was my boyfriend's graduation. I spent MONTHS trying to find the perfect dress within my budget. I wanted to go for a '50's style look, so I went for a swing dress. I found this on It was a fantastic night :)

2) To go along with the grad dress, I had to find a pair of heels to bring 4 11'' me, up to a more statuesque height. I got these of (I have a huge love for Boohoo, I buy most of my clothes there, budget friendly and I find gorgeous things there), they brought me up to a good height.

3) A week after the grad, I had my cousin's wedding, and instead of spending money on a dress I would only wear a few times, I opted to buy a blazer to go along with my dress, that I would wear time and time again I had my eye on it for a few months aswell, so why not? I also got this on *sings*

4) I know this top won't be everyone's cup of tea, but I personally absolutely adooooore it! I got this off of Romwe, for a very reasonable 13 euro with my 20% off discount. I love it so much! I got it in a size small, and it absolutely swans on me! If I tuck it in and wear a jacket over it, it looks alot more fitted on me.

5) Another thing I had my eye on for months, and also from, I love my dark colours, especially black, so I thought I would mix it up a little with something brighter, as all of my bottoms are black. I got these disco pants in a size ten, and they fit perfectly, I adore the colour, I love them!

6) Jasmine pants - you either love them or you hate them, there's no middle ground, and yes, And at 11 euro in Exhibit? How could I turn them down? I got them in a size small-medium. They are thin and breezy, and give a completely different silhouette compared to jeans or leggings. I love them.

7) This. This little beauty has been raved about amongst any beauty bloggers worth their salt. The Eco Tools foundation brush has been something I wanted to invest in for ages, and when I had the money, I snapped one up. I used to use sponges and I grew to hate them, too much bacteria for my liking! After using this brush, I will never go back! Made from bamboo and synthetic taklon, they are very cruelty free, which is a massive bonus for me, personally. It's soft and applies foundation so evenly, well worth the money!

8) This next product, I could go on and on and on about. I might actually do a separate blogpost on the Clarins gentle foaming cleanser with cottonseed I have just too much to say about it! Next to the Lush's Aqua Marina it's my favourite cleanser! I felt a bit guilty about spending a tenner on a cleanser, but, it was so worth it, I still have a bit left in it, which is amazing seeing as I got it in June, June!  The tiniest bit is all that's needed, and I got the small 75ml version. It has done wonders for my skin, but not quite as well as Aqua Marina, 8/10!

9) And finally, I treated myself to The Righteous Butter body lotion by Soap and Glory. Now I have never been big into body lotions at all, but now? I am converted. It smells absolutely beautiful. With softening shea butter and aloe vera, it's very moisturising. The scent is Soap and Glory's very own Pink scent, which is very long lasting on the skin. Simply amazing.

Thank you for reading :)
